Allergy-Friendly Granola Recipes to Make Before Morning

Posted on February 20, 2016

In case you haven’t heard, new Daiya Greek Yogurt Alternative has taken the breakfast world by storm with its dairy-free creaminess, fruity deliciousness and allergy-friendly, plant-based convenience. And while the four incredible flavors are great on their own, we can’t help but wonder how much better they’d be topped with yogurt’s favorite crunchy counterpart. Here are some delicious, allergy-friendly granola recipes begging to be made in time for your next breakfast:

Quinoa Clusters

Copycat Kind Maple Quinoa Clusters, from Gluten-Free on a Shoestring (pictured)

Made with gluten-free oat flour and brown rice flour, this gluten-free granola highlights the grainy goodness of buckwheat, amaranth and whole grain millet – and it also packs a punch of plant-based protein, thanks to quinoa and chia seeds. Sweetened with coconut sugar and maple syrup, it’s sure to be a great addition to your morning meal.

Cranberry-Buckwheat Granola

Gourmet Cranberry-Buckwheat Granola, from Whole New Mom

Naturally gluten-free buckwheat is made super-delicious by the addition of dried cranberries, flaked coconut, cacao nibs and cinnamon. The delicious cereal is sweetened a bit further by orange juice and honey (or stevia, to make it plant-based) and it can easily be made nut-free (just leave out the pistachios and coconut.)

Apple Pie Granola

Apple Pie Granola, from Apple a Day

True to its name, this gluten-free granola tastes like apple pie – but with the satisfying crunch you want from your breakfast cereal. The flax and chia seeds add some plant-based protein, as do the walnuts – but those can easily be left out to make the granola allergen-free. With dried apples and cranberries, applesauce and warming fall spices, this morning treat will still have plenty of flavor.

Anzac Granola

Anzac Granola, from KarenLuvsLife

This delicious granola recipe takes the favorite flavors of a classic Anzac biscuit and turns them into cereal form – and the whole thing can be made allergy-friendly with a few simple substitutions. Just be sure to use gluten-free rolled oats, and skip the dried coconut shreds if needed.

Basic Granola Recipe

Sometimes simple is best – especially on a busy weekday morning. Whip up a batch of this basic gluten-free granola – made with oats, seeds, vanilla, cinnamon, dried fruit and (secret ingredient alert!) a pinch of black pepper – and sprinkle it over your favorite flavor of Daiya Greek Yogurt Alternative, and you’re good to go.
