Celebrating An Allergy-Friendly World

Posted on April 29, 2020

Did you know that allergies affect 24 MILLION people in the US alone? OK. Deep breath. Here’s the hopeful news for everyone: it’s easier than ever before to make delicious, allergy-friendly food. With the right mix of allergy-free ingredients and a little creativity, it’s now easy to create indulgent, carby, crunchy, creamy meals with no gluten, tree-nuts, peanuts, dairy or other major allergens. And hey, you deserve it!

This month is Allergy Awareness Month, and we’re celebrating a better, allergy-conscious world by sharing some of our favorite, allergy-friendly recipes. Because what better way to cheer on the great strides made in understanding allergies than, well, by eating super-tasty allergy-sensitive food?

And the best part—these recipes are universally loved, even if you don’t have allergies. It’s just another way to bring everyone together! So, enjoy…everybody.

Frozen Yogurt Graham Sandwiches

This is a dessert perfect for people with dairy and gluten allergies, but you still have to share with your non-allergic friends. These sweet and crispy ice cream sandwiches are just that good.

Brussels Sprouts and Vegan Bacon Pizza

We’re big fans of Brussel sprouts around here, so we’re excited to use them in any dish we can. This pizza packs all the taste of the traditional pie, without any of the ingredients that lactose-and gluten-sensitive people might want to avoid.

Pasta with Lemon-Garlic Sauce

Pastas with cream sauce are especially tricky for certain allergy sufferers, but this rich and creamy dish tastes like something you could order in an Italian eatery. We recommend using chickpea pasta for an easy gluten-free work-around.

Mini Dairy-Free Caprese Salad Bites

A classic amuse bouche constructed for everyone to enjoy—including the lactose intolerant. This recipe swaps the traditional mozzarella with our dairy-free Mozzarella-style Strips.

Vegan Goulash

This is a non-traditional take on a traditional Eastern European dish. Use gluten-free macaroni and Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds to bring allergy sufferers to the table with this plant-based wonder.

Zucchini and Corn Quesadillas

Just because a meal is allergen-free doesn’t mean it has to be time intensive. These quick and dairy-free quesadillas give you a delicious option in minutes.

Vegan Slow-Cooker French Onion Soup

Without the dense, cheesy cap, French Onion Soup probably wouldn’t have made it across the Atlantic. And with this recipe, everyone (including lactose-intolerant and meat-free eaters) can enjoy the best part of this world-famous soup.
